Stockbridge is a small town in the Berkshires which owes its fame to the fact that the famous painter Norman Rockwell spent the last years of his life there. You can visit a museum dedicated to him. However, Rockwell is not the only artist to have been seduced by this village of 2,000 souls: Daniel Chester French had his residence and his summer studio there. He was one of the most important American sculptors of his time, who created the famous sculpture of Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. The city is pleasant, with its beautiful houses and wide lawns
