After passing the village of Little Marais, this small park is crossed by the Temperance River, which flows into Lake Superior. The park has three waterfalls, two above the road and one below. As you follow the river gorge downstream, you come upon small natural pools where you can swim. You can hike along the 22 miles of hiking trails that run through the park, some of which are part of the Superior Hiking Trail. This trail follows the river and leads to the lake shore past some waterfalls, including Hidden Falls. It also leads to one of the park's two campgrounds
