THE FLORAL CLOCK
The Parc Léopold features an original floral clock, with hands covered in gold leaf, and a kiosk.
In the Parc Léopold, built on the remains of the city in 1860, stands an original floral clock, created in 1932 by Marcel Vanhabost. Today owned by the city, it was moved to its present location in 1963. The hands are covered in gold leaf, and the bronze clock dates back to 1748 and comes from the tower of Saint-Pierre church. Enhanced each year by 15,000 flowers and plants, the date is changed daily during the summer. Also worth a look is the kiosk, inaugurated in 1885.
