Kortrijk is a city with an important and valuable heritage, especially with regard to its mills and enthusiasts can only be interested in the majestic Hoogmolen (the Haut Moulin), a raised wind mill dating back to 1717 and now classified as a historic monument. Still in progress, this mill underwent extensive restoration work between 1993 and 1995, and is now undergoing renovation again.
