An old town hall that houses a new museum and reveals all the secrets of the city of Ypres for a thousand years.
The Ypres Museum is an ideal place to start your tour of the city and the Westhoek. Here you can discover the town's fascinating history, from the Middle Ages to the present day, through interactive media and extraordinary exhibits. Evidence of the past, such as archaeological finds and paintings, sits alongside more recent (and surprising) exhibits, such as a piece from one of the roller coasters at Bellewaerde, the most famous amusement park in the area. The museum is located in the Halles aux Draps, near the Grand'Place.

Ypres, past and present.The setting is real: the Yper Museum is located in a wing of the Ypres Cloth Halls, the largest neo-Gothic bourgeois complex in Europe. The Cloth Halls are also home to the In Flanders Fields Museum, the Ypres Museum Knowledge Centre, the Tourist Office and the Regional Visitor Centre. Our Cloth Halls thus form one large museum. A visit is a must! Relive over 1000 years in Ypres.
