THE DEATH BOWEL
The Hose of Death is the Belgian trench network of the First World War and its personal stories.
This is the only preserved network of Belgian trenches from the First World War. It was one of the Belgian army's most dangerous positions. A German bunker lay just 50 metres away. This network of trenches was soon renamed the "death gut", due to the danger of the location and the violent confrontations that took place there. The site's interpretation center tells the often tragic personal stories of the soldiers who fell at the front.
