KUNSTHAL GENT
This contemporary art center occupies the spaces of a former convent founded in the 13th century. The buildings serve as artists' studios, while the extensively restored church has been converted into an exhibition hall open every weekend. It showcases the work of Belgian and international artists, who can exploit the building's large volumes to create monumental installations. The Kunsthal is very active, renewing its exhibitions three times a year. It also supports young artists through a scholarship program.
