Very well documented museum in Ghent, with a nice garden and a pleasant little café, organizing a puppet theater.
Grouping its small white houses around a courtyard reminiscent of a beguinage, this former hospice was founded in the 14th century by members of a wealthy Ghent family to make amends for the murder of one of their own. The Kinderen Alijn (Alijn Children's) hospice, which housed the poor, the elderly and orphans, is now home to the Huis van Alijn (House of Alijn). The museum is well-documented, giving an insight into Flemish life at the end of the 19thcentury . There's also a puppet theater, a pretty garden and a pleasant little café.
