They adorn the façade of this exceptional residence built in 1661. A curiosity in Ghent! The seven works are: feed the hungry, drink the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter foreigners, deliver detainees, visit the sick. If you count well, there are only six, those described by Mathieu, because the seventh, «bury the dead» was added later.
