You can't miss the facade of the Slegte with its beautiful stained glass window depicting a peacock above the bookstore's window. Once inside, you'll find yourself in a 5-floor palace dedicated to new and used books, on all subjects and for all ages. Obviously, most of the books are in Dutch, but you will find sections of books in English and French. If you're lucky, you'll come across a translated version of Flemish writers, a classic by Hugo Claus or a more contemporary novel by Tom Lanoye or Lize Spit.
