Such a beautiful place! Thank you for the lovely stay and incredible hospitality — I had the best time.

Tomba (the dog) matching the dog seen in the paintings on the wall made my day, which I didn’t think could be topped after the unreal breakfast.

I will definitely be back ????????

A lovely setting in a convenient location at reasonable prices with a host that can point you towards anything you’re looking for regardless of how obscure. That’s pretty hard to beat. Highly recommended!

Stayed 3 nights here and really enjoyed the vibes, Jan&Marc clearly did a wonderful job on maintaining this historic building. Everything works well for us, the breakfast was fantastic and the location is great!

Geweldig, terug in de tijd in deze 18e eeuwse herenhuis. Vol maar dan vol met de leukste kunst en spullen. De gastheren waren professioneel, netjes en behulpzaam. Letterlijk en figuurlijk een prachtig ervaring. Gent was ook een stad vol verassingen op het gebied van cultuur, winkelen en wereld eten. Kortom een top Hotel op een top locatie in een top stad. Wij gaan nog een keer hierheen.

Wat een super leuke en prachtige B&B.. je komt ogen te kort echt super mooie locatie, mooie binnentuin en ja neem z'n heerlijk ontbijt gemaakt door Jan. wat een heerlijk vers ontbijt en de koffie wow..heerlijk. Wij hebben gevraagd of zij een leuke locatie weten om te eten.. dat werd revue. Dat hebben ze voor ons gereserveerd en uitgelegd waar het zat... deze B&B ligt top is super stil en wat een lekker bedden.. mannen bedankt..voor ons een dikke 10

Останавливались тут где-то в 2015-2016.
Очень приятный опыт, старинный дом и аутентичные предметы. Завтракаешь со столовым серебром.
Такое не строят под гостиницу.
Видимо, осталось по наследству (старые деньги) и решили запустить в формате гостиницы.
Настоятельно рекомендую. Аутентичное прикосновение к прошлому.
Не слушайте нищебродов, которые уронили оценку.

We had a wonderful getaway for five nights at the Verhaegen. I selected the B&B because I love historic buildings. The Verhaegen did not disappoint. The aesthetic of the guest room and common areas is so inviting and interesting. My only regret is that we did not have warmer weather to enjoy the french garden! We stayed in the deluxe room with a spacious bathroom with soaking tub. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. I really appreciated the complementary in room espresso. Every aspect of the service (check-in, breakfast, housekeeping) exceeded expectations. Thank you to Tomba, Jan and Marc for your warm hospitality!

Wow, tolle Location. Mit soviel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. In jeder Ecke gibt es was zu entdecken. Jedes Foto sehenswert.

Dishonest and way too expensive for what it is. We booked a room for 380 euros and ended up paying much more for it. We stayed in The Verhaegen for one night and booked a room for 2 adults and 2 children. I reserved via the telephone and I received an e-mail confirmation with the total cost of the room including the baby cot and an extra bed for a child specified on the reservation at no additional cost. The total cost of the room with the extra beds on the reservation was 380. However, at check out we were asked to pay 75 euros for the baby cot and the extra bed although it was never specified that there are any extra costs. On the contrary, the reservation confirmation specifically had no extra costs added for them. This way of proceeding is simply dishonest. Similarly, the parking was also quite expensive and there was no prior mention of the cost. Breakfast is also way overpriced. All in all, not a nice experience although the building itself is beautiful but unfortunately the lack of honesty of the hosts takes its toll.

Fenomenaal en beeldschoon. Wellicht één van de mooiste boutique suites die west europa kent! De eigenaren hebben ongekend goede smaak en zijn niet voor niets succesvol interieurarchitect. Werkelijk elke ruimte is adembenemend en met oog voor detail ingericht. De beleving was grandioos en ook de persoonlijke service is ongekend goed. Verder was het ontbijt uitgebreid en wederom een ware beleving, een heuse kers op de taart! Wat een aanwinst voor de stad Gent en België opzich!
