Youth hostel in the center of Ghent, the best in town for its home-like atmosphere, dormitories and new beds.

This centrally-located youth hostel is the best in Ghent. The dormitories, some with a direct view of the monuments, sleep from 3 to 14 people. Characterful floors, brick walls, old windows... the whole place has character. The beds are new, mostly bunk beds, each with its own reading light and socket. Lockers, kitchen and shared bathrooms are satisfactory. The living room impresses with its windows, space and home-like atmosphere. Good breakfast. Kayaks and bicycles for hire.

Can’t recommend this hostel enough! Out of all the hostels I’ve visited within 3 weeks this one felt the most inviting and cozy making it super comfortable to connect with people in my room or hanging out in the lobby. They have all the amenities you could need - gorgeous kitchen with all the supplies and more. Very clean space with the friendliest staff that play a big part in the welcoming atmosphere. If you’re looking for an affordable stay in a magical city where you can make great friends along the way - Hostel Uppelink is the spot!

The hostel is located in the city center offering a wonderful view of the city from its rooms. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I totally enjoyed my time there.
