This castle is one of the most beautiful in Belgium. In a magnificent green setting, in a meander of the Lys between Ghent and Deinze, rise the majestic facades of the castle of Ooidonk. Built in the 16th century with a squat medieval look, it still has the elegance and cheerfulness of its Renaissance details. Still inhabited by its owners, one can discover its eventful history, its hidden treasures (furniture and art objects) in guided tours, only in summer. Beautiful wooded park, moat and large lawns. You can even sleep there!

Château Ooidonk
Lors d’une balade le long de la Lys dans la banlieue de Gand ne manquez pas le château d’Ooidonk. Nous n’avons pas pu visiter l’intérieur car il y avait un tournage de film et pour 2 € seulement nous avons fait le tour de la propriété et des magnifiques jardins. Un restaurant à l’entrée du domaine permet de prolonger la pause.
