The old vaulted cellars of the Hospice de Meursault from the 15th and 17th centuries house the vintages of the house since the 19th century, founded by Jean Ropiteau. The wines are matured, regional appellations, villages, 1ers Crus and Grands Crus and prestigious wines: Corton Charlemagne, Meursault Genevrières, Pommard Chaponnières, Volnay. From Easter to the end of November, visit the cellars for a free tour of the cellars and the winery. Then, you can compose your own tasting at the right temperature! To be booked by phone or mail.

Nous ne nous attendions pas à un tel accueil… nous arrivons ce jour à midi trente et demandons si nous pouvons entrer dans la boutique. Un jeune homme servait un couple. Il nous dit à demi mot que oui. Nous attendons notre tour en regardant la carte des vins. Un autre couple rentre également après nous. Lorsque le couple précédent termine, nous demandons poliment s’il est possible d’effectuer une dégustation. Le jeune homme nous répond, sur un ton agacé « alors uniquement deux verres parce que je dois déjeuner, c’est dimanche, j’ai mes deux filles, vous pouvez comprendre je pense, hein? »… hallucinant… nous sommes sortis en lui disant, toujours poliment et gentiment, que nous le laissions tranquille profiter de ses filles. Si l’établissement est fermé, aucun problème. Il suffit de le dire gentiment et nous comprenons bien sûr. Mais accepter l’arrivée de clients en boutique et ensuite leur parler sur un ton condescendant et dédaigneux n’est pas digne de commerçants. Nous n’y retournerons plus et vous souhaitons une meilleure expérience que nous!

We have had a fantastic wine tasting in this place! Great hosts, a fantastic cave and really good explanations about all the Meursault wines history, production, etc. We truly recommend to stop by there and enjoy a great wine tasting…..sante! It was our best wine tasting and we had a lot on our trip!

A rip-off. They refused to sell to me hors taxes even though I live in Switzerland. Promised to credit my card once the French Customs had stamped the invoice and I emailed it back. But the invoice didn’t have the TVA number or the name of the company on it. I’ve asked Ropiteau multiple times for the revised invoice without any luck. They are not to be trusted.
