Hood River, located at the confluence of Columbia and Hood rivers, is known for international windsurfing competitions (in July). The city has a historic heritage of old buildings and a pleasant atmosphere of a relaxed sports resort.In winter, this is the starting point for ski touring in Mont Hood. The valley, Oregon orchard, is covered with fruit trees (apple trees and pear trees) on several hundred hectares from the eastern tip of Mount Hood. The place is also pleasant in the spring, when the orchards are in bloom and the windsurfers give themselves to the joy of the river, that in winter, when déboulent skiers and the streets illuminate decorations. An excellent base for discovering the Mt Hood and the Columbia River Gorge.
