Valemount, the closest town to Mount Robson, is often just a stopover town. It is also used to accommodate the surplus of tourists when Jasper, which is only an hour and a half away, is full in the summer. But this small village, which seems a bit sleepy, is also the starting point for beautiful walks, and will seduce amateurs looking for a more authentic and less touristy Canada. The more adventurous will be able to brave the rapids of the Fraser River, fish for trout and ride ATVs along the dirt roads. Rich in history, the city has an important heritage, closely linked to the construction of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, which can be discovered by visiting its few local museums.
