This 240 km2 wilderness provincial park is quite difficult to access and has few facilities. It is, however, one of the seven Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks that have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1990 (four national parks and three provincial parks). Named after Eric Werge Hamber, the province's lieutenant governor between 1926 and 1941, the park is adjacent to its famous Alberta counterpart, Jasper National Park, and located south of Mount Robson Provincial Park. Anglers will enjoy the waters of Fortress Lake, surrounded by peaks and glaciers, while enjoying the lush vegetation.
