Following Highway 1 towards Banff, you will enter Yoho National Park, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks. As you drive through its many natural sites (including the 254 m Takakkaw Falls, the 3 562 m high Mount Goodsir, the Emerald Lake covered with ice most of the year, etc.), it is easy to understand why its name comes from an expression of the Cree people which means wonder. More than 300 km of trails crisscross the park, but access conditions can be difficult (ask locally).
