Get ready for 485 km of road, more or less driveable, to reach Bella Coola, the only town accessible by road along the coast between Power River and Prince Rupert. Bella Coola is a tiny town nestled in a glaciated valley with a landscape worthy of Norwegian fjords. Don't expect to find a tourist town, but rather a village with basic services such as a grocery store, gas station, restaurants and several hotels. Several adventure companies are available on site and offer helicopter flights as well as guided hikes. Bella Coola, home territory of the Nuxalk First Nations, is renowned for its wooden sculptures and objects.
