Stonewall is located on Highway 290, halfway between Johnson City and Fredericksburg. The town has a population of only about 600 people. It is named after Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson. This is the birthplace and deathplace of former U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson, in office from 1963 to 1969, was born and died here. His ranch on the Pedernales River is now part of the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. While this town is famous for its peach crops, the fruits of the vine also make the local wineries interesting stops. We recommendAdega Vinho Winery to enjoy a good wine.
