The name Many does not come from the crazy activity in this village, far from it. Many is named after James B. Many, the commander of Fort Jesup, a historic site that is the only attraction in the area along with North Toledo Bend State Park. Many is a gateway to the famous Toledo Bend Reservoir, a gigantic dammed lake stretching along the Sabine National Forest, located in neighboring Texas. The reservoir is known as one of the best bass fishing spots in the country, one of the toughest freshwater fish.
