Free and participative guided tours from 5 years old.
The Fonds Régional d'Art Contemporain de Bourgogne was created in 1982. Its mission is to support the development of contemporary art by stimulating creation and reaching out to all publics. The "Les Bains du Nord" exhibition space is located just opposite Les Halles dijonnaises, with its Storefront showcase featuring artists in residency. The building's 500 sq. m. of floor space can be used for discussions on the 645 works on display, as well as for workshops and guided tours. The collection is regularly enriched by new works, and emerging and established artists alike can propose their own to director Astrid Handa-Gagnard. The collection includes works by such prestigious artists as Jean Dupuy, Man Ray, Annette Messager, Didier Marcel, Christian Boltanski and Andy Warhol, to name but a few! Unlike a "classic" museum, the FRAC doesn't put its collection on permanent display, but lends its works to exhibitions both inside and outside its walls. Discover the world of contemporary art with participatory guided tours (from age 5 upwards), which give you the keys you need to decipher the works. The structure is also developing a number of partnerships, such as with La Minoterie, a venue dedicated to young audiences. It also supports the resident artists at Halle 38, a former barracks in the Heudelet eco-district that has been converted into a studio space, including painter Gentaro Murakami.
