Dijon's archaeological museum retraces daily life in Gallo-Roman times thanks to excavations at Mediolanum.

Housed in the main wing of the former Benedictine abbey of Saint-Bénigne, the permanent collections present a panorama of man's presence in Burgundy from prehistory to the Middle Ages, through the region's key sites: Dijon, Alesia, Les Bolards, the sources of the Seine and Mâlain. For children, new activities every season allow them to enter the fascinating world of archaeology at their own pace. The 2025 program includes the opening of a new tour route focusing on must-see works and temporary exhibitions.

Closed Tuesdays and public holidays. Low season: open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 9:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 6pm. High season: Wednesday to Monday, 9:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 6pm. Visited in july 2025

Very interesting cultural activity in Digon. All museums are free in town. Next to the Cathedral, another spot worthy of a visit. You get through the whole history of Digon, from neolithic to middle ages. Good display of artifacts, accompanied by a clear explanation of the historical process. Very recommended if in town.
