A museum with an exceptional historic botanical garden in Dijon, where you can learn all about the history of life and biodiversity.

Located in the former arquebusiers barracks, this beautiful 19th-century arcaded building houses the Natural History Museum. It is now part of a whole dedicated to the discovery of living things: a place to learn about and understand biodiversity. Welcome to the Jardin des Sciences de l'Arquebuse, a completely renovated facility featuring museography accessible to all ages. When you visit this museum, you're on a complete site that includes an exceptional botanical garden, with its variety of flower species, and the Pavillon du Raines, with its planetarium, which regularly organizes scientific and entertaining exhibitions. Completely renovated and redesigned a few years ago, the museum invites you into the heart of the history of life and biodiversity. With over 100,000 visits a year, it's a firm favorite with adults and children alike, who love the logical, immersive tour it offers. The collections are astonishing, from the dinosaur fossils to the numerous display cases showing animal scenes in their original environment. Curious visitors will learn a great deal about birds, fish and jungle animals such as gorillas, elephants, giraffes, lions and tigers. Good to know: a small part of the museum is reserved for the animals found in the region. Simply fascinating.
