DAUPHINE DIJON
The Dauphine shopping center is in the heart of downtown Dijon. Between Place Bossuet and Rue du Bourg, it's just a few minutes' walk to the various shopping streets. It's a strategic point for both traffic and shopping, with around 30 stores and boutiques. Nevertheless, the number of shops continues to decline year on year. In 2016 and 2017, boutique Jad, sandwich shop Bagel Zée and restaurant Esprit Street Food left the mall. Before them, many others closed their doors one after the other, with the result that an entire wing of the mall is now completely unoccupied. The others are gradually emptying out. However, Monoprix, Bouchara, Nature & Découvertes and Sucx still attract many Dijon residents. Admittedly, the building itself is aging, and unattractive inside and out. However, a number of long-established independent shops, such as5e Avenue, Gribouille and FotoFlash, are holding their own.
