Church dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra, decorated with frescoes depicting the creation of Adam and Eve and their exile from Paradise.
Dating from the 12th century, this church is one of Bornholm's rundkirke, circular churches whitewashed and used as a fortress and refuge against Gotland pirates and Slavs. Dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra, the patron saint of sailors, it is decorated with late Romanesque frescoes (1275-1300) recounting the creation of Adam and Eve and their exile from Paradise in seven panels. Little lit, walls of 2 m thick, a nave with a diameter of 11 m surrounded by the cemetery.
