Although mentioned in local chronicles since 1637, this village developed during the construction of the railway linking Warsaw in St. Petersburg during the second half of the th century. The village itself has no special point of interest, except a beautiful wooden church, open only at the mass, as well as the ethnographic museum of Dzūkija National Park devoted to local Traditions. However, the village retains the charm of yesteryear and is a good starting point for the discovery of the park.
