Along the road between Cochabamba and Villa Tunari, the Carrasco National Park, established in 1991, is famous for its tropical rainforest of more than 600,000 hectares hosting a rich flora (more than 3,000 species of plants are listed), and a varied fauna (spectacled bear, jaguar, tapir, taruca (Andean deer)... Tours allow you to visit this "cloud forest" from Villa Tunari, in particular the Cavernas del Repechon and the Rio San Mateo. It is possible to reach Chapare in 3 days of trek by following the "clouds path" which goes down from 4 000 m to 300 m of altitude (guide essential).
