The Dempster Highway (735 km), completed in 1979, passes through the Ojilvie and Richardson Mountains, crosses the Arctic Circle and ends in Inuvik. The heart of this park with its black and granite peaks and idyllic alpine lakes is a day's walk from the Dempster Highway. The trip must be prepared as there are few trails, the nature is wild and the park is remote. The fauna and flora are rich. The entrance is at the Visitor Centre at km 71 of the Dempster Highway. There are many hikes and viewpoints available on the side of the road. Remember to fill up with gas in advance.
