What a curious capital that Nay Pyi Taw! Built in a magnificent green setting, but totally chaotic at the same time. The city is not really of much interest, so much Myanmar has other treasures to discover, if not to see the surrealist side of a utopia in the middle of the jungle, where distances are so long that one constantly thinks one is leaving the city, and where apart from three white elephants which are the pride of the Burmese and the very expensive zoo which shelters them, there is very little to see. The city is often used as a stopover point where one can rest and enjoy the services offered by all the luxury hotels. It is impossible to walk to Nay Pyi Taw, as there is no city centre.
