Located 60 km east of Terrace Bay on Highway 17, it is a natural environment park that includes the historic Coldwell Peninsula and surrounding islands. The ghost town of Coldwell, just outside the eastern boundary of the park, was home to an old railway line and fishing community until 1960. What remains of this village are a few foundations, wrecks in the harbour and a cemetery. Located in Ontario's central boreal forest region, the park is home to a wide variety of plant species including Labrador tea, blueberry and maple, as well as a variety of wildlife.
