The valley, dug at 2,200 m of altitude, between Arequipa and Moquegua, is circumscribed by high peaks: Paylogén or Huaynaputina. In the village of Omate, we will enter the church to admire the golden altar and the neoclassical altarpieces. You can also visit one of the two mills from the colonial period, which is still in operation and supplies flour to the bakers who bake the tasty "pán de trigo".In the surroundings, the thermal baths of Ulucan attract the crowd that does not overwhelm the site of Pampa Dolores, where petroglyphs suggest hunting scenes dating back to 8000 years before our era.
