It is a beautiful countryside, about 11 km southeast of Arequipa (45 min). It is perhaps the village that has best preserved the character of the Arequipa of the past, as much in its costumes and traditions as in its inhabitants. Considered as one of the "lungs" of Arequipa because of its abundant vegetation, a great part of its population cultivates vegetables and fruits and joins the white city on weekends to sell their products.
