Owensboro is located in Daviess County, in the central part of Kentucky on the banks of Ohio and facing Indiana state to which it is connected by Clover H. Cary Bridge. The city has approximately 57 000 inhabitants, making it the fourth city of the state, after Louisville, Lexington and Bowling Green. Its economy is based on the medical, financial and education sectors, which provide the main jobs in the region. For several years, Owensboro has been working to develop its status as a regional business centre and its tourist attractions. He will then take the name of International Bluegrass Music Center (IBMC).As the world's capital capital of the barbecue, the city has several restaurants specializing in the slow cooking of pork meat, but also, characteristic of this region of Kentucky, of sheep. Every year in May is the International Bar-B-Q Festival. It is then a huge culinary and musical feast that transforms the city for two days.
