It is the largest speleological complex in the world! This site of 21 400 ha, with approximately 630 km of listed galleries, is the largest underground network in the world. Rich in spectacular rock formations and spectacular domes, the site is of immense geological and ecological value and has been naturally registered as UNESCO World Heritage since October 27, 1981 and classified as International biosphere reserve since September 26, 1990. In the basement, you will be your in front of Frozen Niagara, the Snowball Room or the Audubon Avenue. The burning fauna is particularly rich: 8 species of bat, an endogenous shrimp species of the Kentucky caves, an endogenous cavernicole fish, Amblyopsis speleae, and cave salamanders. Above the cave flows the Green River River, bordered by numerous hiking trails, which also form part of the national park. The latter covers 213,8 km 2.
