Bouhedma National Park is located in southern Tunisia, on horseback between the regions of Gafsa and Sidi Bouzid. Created in December 1980, it covers nearly 16 500 hectares. It is the second largest natural park in Tunisia. Bouhedma is one of the last savanes in North Africa. There are acacias and vivent gazelles and manchettes sheep. Two species remaining in this park and not elsewhere in Tunisia. Ostriches and addax antelopes, reintroduced to Bouhedma in the last century, find a harbour favourable to their mating.
