Things to see and do Beaune

The Halles de Beaune are ideally located in the city. They are located opposite the Hôtel-Dieu des Hospices de Beaune, in the heart of the city. Throughout the year, every Wednesday and Friday from 7am to 1pm, the people of Beaunne meet there to do their shopping. Wednesday is more specifically dedicated to food products. Here you can find everything: fruit, vegetables, meat, delicatessen, rotisserie, cheese, spices, etc. The organic sector and local producers are also well represented. Up to 180 merchants can take place! Ideal for finding local products. Surrounded by cafés and restaurants, nothing prevents you from taking a short break in the morning to have a coffee or finish your market with a lunch. From April to November on Saturdays, you can also visit the flea market on Place Carnot. Good times ahead!

Internationally renowned for its wines, Beaune also has a rich historical and architectural heritage. A course with audioguides has been installed to connect the main buildings and allow visitors to discover their origins and the anecdotes surrounding them. You will see Beaune's hospices, Monge Square, ramparts and many other places of interest. Audioguides can also be rented at night to visit Beaune by taking advantage of the light game on monuments.

The new electrically-powered visiotrain can be used everywhere, from the city's most emblematic landmarks to the vineyards! You'll discover Beaune from the comfort of your seat, at an average speed of 8 km/h, for a 40-minute escapade punctuated by commentaries on Beaune's history and culture, enhanced by a few anecdotes and musical interludes. The tour starts in front of the Hôtel Dieu, then passes through the old town, the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame, the Parc de la Bouzaise... Commentaries are broadcast in a dozen languages.

At the beginning of the Parc Park, this 7 km loop through the fields allows to discover the wine landscape of Beaune. The land winds between the agricultural properties delimited by walls and stone doors. Enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding hamlets and their typical houses. During the seasons, this beautiful walk changes color to offer a different spectacle.

A 22-kilometre train ride links the cities of Beaune and Santenay. Known as the vineyards, it crosses the wine fields and villages whose names will evoke some of the great wines. Take the time to admire the architectural features of each village and their castles, often hidden among the vineyards. It takes a little more than two hours to carry out the bike in its entirety, but it is possible to turn around at any time. If you have only one hour's spare time, you can, for example, be satisfied with the route Beaune-Meursault, which is ten kilometres long.
