Beautiful lake north of Chugah State Park offering several beautiful hikes accessible by a scenic road
This beautiful lake is located north of Chugah State Park and is accessible by a scenic road that we recommend you take. Several beautiful hikes bypass the lake or climb to the top of the surrounding mountains. Among the most spectacular: Lakeside Trail (10 miles), Thunderbird Falls Trail (1 mile), Twin Peaks Trail (6.5 miles). Also worth seeing: Elkutna village, where you can admire St Nicholas church, a church dating from the early 19th century, the oldest building in the Anchorage area still standing.
