The 800 hectares of forest belonged to an ex-president, Rodrigo Carazo, who created trails for horseback riding or walking punctuated by beautiful waterfalls. Two easily accessible trails, the Anastasio Alfaro and the Alberto Manuel Brenes, require 2 to 4 hours each. An ideal excursion for those who do not have enough time to go to Monteverde, further north. While the latter is considered a must-see, the Bosque Nuboso de Los Angeles is no less spectacular: you will have the reserve to yourself and can marvel at more than 350 species of birds, including the spectacular quetzals.
