It is a small town that you pass through very quickly on your way to La Fortuna and Arenal from Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui. There is not really any point of interest to visit, nor any activity worth prolonging the visit to Muelle San Carlos. However, you can take advantage of a short stop to fill up at the gas station at the crossroads! For a longer break, we can only recommend the beautiful Tilajari resort, which offers a myriad of activities: canopy tours, horseback riding in the forest, safari to the Peñas Blancas river, or an excursion to the Arenal volcano with a stop at the thermal baths.
