Gua Musang takes its name from the rocky cavities carved into the karst overlooking the kampung. Gua means "cave", and musang refers to a type of local civet. It is possible to visit them if you are prepared to climb the path leading to them. A guide is recommended, as access conditions can sometimes be perilous. Once you've entered the cave, you wander through an impressive 150 m-long gallery, which eventually leads to the other side of the mountain. Unless you're a fan of caving, the site is of limited interest. From Kota Bharu, there are several daily bus departures (3h30) to Gua Musang.
