Now there's a nugget! The aptly named Terrasse sur Lazio boasts a spectacular view of one of the island's most beautiful beaches. A view you can enjoy from the infinity pool of this family-run establishment or from the terraces of the 4 well-equipped apartments, including a kitchen. But what a pleasure it is to be served remarkable Creole cuisine by the charming Thérèse on this balcony overlooking the ocean! Although Anse Lazio is only a 15-minute walk away, a car is essential and access is via the other side of the island, towards Anse Kerlan.

❌BUT There’s no way to enjoy the island and the stay in general without a car, and I would have appreciated a heads up. The part of the island on which the apartment is located lacks everything (for example, it’s 20 minutes away from the closest place that makes coffee, and when that one is closed there is nothing at a reasonable distance). It’s on top of a hill, and the roads are STEEP. Which means that while anse Lazio is relatively close, it’s not easily accessible to everyone and from this part of the island it requires to hike through a short trail. The same beach has a super easy access on the other side of the island, but it’s a 40 minutes drive. The bed and the pillows are uncomfortable. The wifi is slow at times but functional
