A place full of atmosphere located on the heights of Sans-Souci, with an atmosphere that is both romantic and disturbing.
On the heights of Sans-Souci there is a place full of atmosphere. Slightly set back from the road, and beyond a few sections of walls, the only remains of a Catholic mission, a superb avenue of imposing sandragons (from 1870), with mossy trunks and spectacular roots, leads to a belvedere that Queen Elizabeth II inaugurated in 1972. From this viewing-lodge, a veritable balcony on the west coast, the view is grandiose. The atmosphere of this site, both romantic and disturbing, is reminiscent of the settings of phantasmagorical films such as The Wizard of Oz.
