At the source of the Volcan River, a tributary of the Maipo River (east of the municipality of Baños Morales), lies the "natural monument" Morado, with an area of 3,009 hectares. It is crisscrossed by several marked trails that make excellent hiking routes. From the viewpoint of Las Panimávidas, the view is breathtaking. Don't miss a trip to the Morado Lagoon (where you can camp). A trail, particularly recommended, leads in less than 2 hours (6 km of hiking) to the ventisquero (glacier) San Francisco and then to the glacier El Morado. The andinists will be able to climb the mirador El Morado (4 320 m), from where the panorama is splendid.
