This industrial town is not the most pleasant in Zimbabwe, but it is a fairly important crossroads in the east of the country. Roads from Harare, Mutare and Nyanga meet in Rusape and travelers touring the Eastern Highlands will pass through here. The town is also the most convenient starting point for the rock paintings at Diana's Vow. From Harare, drive to Marondera and then to Macheke and follow the signs to Rusape. All buses between Harare and Mutare stop at Rusape. Kombis to Nyanga and Juliasdale leave from the Evergreen bus station about 800 meters from the main bus station.
