This village, the largest in the region, is best known as the home of Funäsfjällen, the third largest ski resort in the country. The ski area is located north of the Rogen reserve, close to the Norwegian border. Typical Swedish landscape, you will find wooden houses with green moss roofs. The village has a population of about 1,000. A local attraction is the Fjällmuseum, which has exhibits on mountain agriculture and Saami culture. The Sami people are an indigenous Finno-Ugric people who inhabit large parts of northern Lapland today.
