From Røros, it's a 34 km trip to Lake Femund, Norway's third-largest lake. Around the lake, the Femundsmarka and Gutulia national parks are home to Norway's southernmost reindeer herds (some 4,000 head) and forests with trees over 250 years old. Super hiking trails in Femundsmarka National Park, where you can also fish and canoe.
