VILLINGEN FORTIFICATIONS

Villingen's fortifications are part of the city's remarkable heritage. Well-preserved and with several towers at regular intervals, they surround the old town on more than half of its boundaries. For example, you can linger at the foot of the ^14th-century Kaiserturm, the Gerberturm, which was used for defensive purposes, or the Bickentor, which is a century older, but to which the baroque St. Ursula cloister chapel is attached.
