Huge piece of limestone and coral in the shape of a castle with a 9-ton door and a sundial unique in the world
A visit to this incredible limestone and coral castle built in the 1920s by Edward Leedskalnin, a Latvian sculptor and architect, is not to be missed. His childhood sweetheart ran away the day before their wedding in Latvia and he never recovered. After emigrating to Florida, he devoted 30 years of his life to building this "castle" in the hope that she would one day join him there. Admire the 9-ton door and the unique sundial... Open Monday, Thursday and Sunday, 9am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 7pm. Last tour 1h before. Adults: US$25; children (aged 7 to 12): US$8. Souvenir store.

Located in Florida, north of the city of Homestead, Coral Castle is a collection of over 1,000 tons of sculptures carved from rock and coral, created by Edward Leedskalnin in memory of his lost love. While visiting this place, you will admire a garden of stone sculptures and a sign carved in the stone at its entrance. Besides, this mysterious castle can host all kinds of events: birthday parties, weddings, family reunions and others.
