This village of 300 souls is located 15 km south of Pilar. We ride our bikes, motorcycles or horses through the grey earth streets. Everything is concentrated around the central park, where a few cows graze and in the middle of which you can admire a beautiful Franciscan church. With its palm roof covered with tiles, supported by solid columns and adobe walls, it resembles the simpler and more recent (1862) church of Yagarón. Around the park, colonial houses and a historical museum. The visit to Isla Umbú takes no more than an hour, and the bus schedules make it easy to get there and back from Pilar. The Del Sur company has departures from Pilar at 11 am and 5 pm. The return buses pass by at 6am and 2pm.
